Qualifications Donald G. MacNair brings more than twenty-seven years of design experience to MacNair Landscape Architecture. As principal landscape architect, Mr. MacNair is currently involved in a wide variety of public and private development. Professional goals are to enhance the quality of the outdoor environment by providing functional and attractive landscape designs. Project level commitment includes remaining on the forefront of new technology associated with landscape architectural construction and design. Mr. MacNair’s expertise includes landscape master planning, irrigation and planting design, paving design and structural detailing. As an environmental design professional working on complex projects, Mr. MacNair understands and values the cooperation necessary to work with other disciplines. As part of a design team, he is dedicated to design of aesthetic yet practical landscapes. Formerly, as partner in Lufkin & MacNair Landscape Architects, Mr. MacNair participated in projects of all scopes and sizes. Types of projects include plaza and park design, transportation center landscaping, residential design, school and church landscapes, multi-unit housing, subdivision and streetscape landscaping, hospital and medical office building landscapes, commercial office and warehouse landscaping. Prior to his partnership, Mr. MacNair was employed as a landscape architect for Jonathan Herr and Associates where he was responsible for design and construction documentation on numerous projects. From 1983 to 1985 Mr. MacNair worked in San Luis Obispo, first with SEDES as a landscape designer and then Midstate Engineers as a civil engineering draftsman. Additional experience from 1978 to 1981 includes employment with the U.S. Forest Service as an Architectural Aide and a Civil Engineering Aide. Responsibilities included design and implementation of river access sites, campgrounds and other Forest Service facilities and work with the Visual Resource Management system in both the Flathead National Forest and the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
